Stressless Leathers

Stressless leathers come in four groups: Paloma, Batick, Cori, and Noblesse. Each group has its own color choices.

Paloma

Paloma is a slightly corrected leather with a combination of dyes and pigments that smooths the structure (the grain pattern) of the leather. Due to its soft, natural and comfortable expression, Paloma is a popular choice.

As in all leather, grain structure in Paloma may vary slightly and minor color nuances may appear. Natural marks, scars and insect bites are natural and will appear. A thin coat of lacquer gives Paloma some protection and simplifies cleaning, but Paloma does not have the same heavy duty quality and protection as Batick and Cori.

Batick

Batick is a corrected, pigment improved, grain-embossed leather, which has had most of its natural marks removed. Batick may have a two-tone color effect to liven up the surface. Batick resists fading, although changes in color will occur over time due to use and exposure to light. A protective layer of lacquer simplifies cleaning.

Cori

Cori has a distinct pebbled grain. It is a corrected, pigment improved and grain embossed upholstery leather. Most of its natural marks are removed. Cori has a tip-shine which adds depth and character to the surface.  Some colors have two-tone/ tone-on-tone effect.  A protective layer of lacquer simplifies cleaning.

Noblesse

Noblesse is Ekornes' the most exclusive leather quality. It is a full grain semi-aniline, which means that it is dyed all the way through and has only a thin protective topcoat. This keeps the natural softness and luster that characterizes a first-class leather furniture. Noblesse retains its original grain and structure. Minor color nuances and skin blemishes will occur, as well as slight variations in different parts of the leather cover. A topcoat provides a measure of protection. Be aware that Noblesse is the most delicate of the leathers that Ekornes uses. It absorbs moisture easily, and is more vulnerable to wear and tear, heat, sunlight, spills and perspiration. Regular maintenance is important to keep its attractive appearance.
